What do we really have to do day by day to get by as a Christian?
What is the minimum daily scripture devotion requirement for a Christian to grow in God?
For starters take your pick, all good choices;
Scripture says; the word of God is a lamp to our path and a light to our feet. Let the word be hidden in our hearts affecting our attitudes and subsequent behavior that we may stop sinning against God. For the heart is the wellspring of life!

Scripture says; crave spiritual milk. In this way you will be letting Jesus build His Church – you and I? Far be it that the “gates of Hell” prevail—because we are not permitting this!

Scripture says; plant yourself by the river (the Lord’s Table) and you will benefit from the promises in Psalm1. Also the result of this is Cities untouched by the gospel will be saved, and the divorce rate and teen pregnancy rate currently statistically no different among certain circles of professing Christians to that of the world will make a turn and show a good report!
What starter to avoid;
Smells good but tastes horrible - avoid the recipe of a Christianity that accommodates worldly lifestyles and priorities making room for a two tier Christianity served unto many and relished by them! This is not from heavens bakery. Consider the choice of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego who sought not to defile themselves with the delicacies from the kings table offered to Idols but stuck to what was undefiled – the word of God is pure and true.

Seriously tasty for the main course
Do “methods”
of Bible study mean anything to God is it one way or another? Is it “the heart” and the motive that He is after, rather than the “method”?
Consider this essential, Eternal Truth: “The LIFE becomes the Light of men” (Jn. 1:4). “The Word became flesh, and dwelt for awhile AMONG us” (Jn. 1:14). This was and still is God’s Way to relate to us by the person of the Holy Spirit!

The simple saints of the first century experienced walking in the ways and power and fellowship with the Father that Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, experienced. Most today have no idea whatsoever what this means. But you and I can experience the supernatural blessings and Life of God, just as some other mere men just like us did in Acts, chapters 2-4 and onward. Really! How?
“The child born in the logical way” will never have the super-natural inheritance that God intended. “Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now” (Galatians 4:28-29). But God is the God who loves a vulnerable People, with an admittedly barren womb. Their whole trust is not in themselves or the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, but rather fully in the God of the barren womb, a truly awesome God. If you seek me with all your heart I shall be found by you say’s our God and he will give us victory over the flesh and the devil!
The promised Holy Spirit sent to us by God is the key in our daily bible devotion. Love Him do not grieve Him; let us ask Him to open the scriptures for you and I every day that we may know Him- our God!
What main course dishes to avoid;
Satan has counterfeited the real stuff—the organic Life of a People living every minute of every day for Jesus and each other (rather than religious events and independent, self-centered lifestyles). Ishmael is a serious contender for the throne of our life let us not let him fool us into m
istaking him for Isaac, unless we care to know the difference and demand to see the Fruit in our lifetime of “on earth as it is in Heaven”—not just words Jesus Himself, in the Power of His immutable Word, said “Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life” (Mk. 10:29-30). Let’s be lovers of Truth.
How do you and I measure to this religious protocol? Do you “attend” to your daily “bible study” or other devotion (“worship service” or “prayer) and view your self as “acceptable” and not have a single real, exposing relationship with God or man?

Some enjoy ease and comfort in this way not because they know God or are walking in Truth and righteousness, but because they are involved in religion and yet they feel entirely a part of kingdom things. This is unfortunately a terrible deception for them and others! This is because by faithfully “participating” each day or week forms an “end in itself”!
In the book of James chapter 1, the scripture says the word of God as mirror should cau
se us to be doers not to be hearers only. Many not being who they are let everyone believe that they really are not. Because of this unchecked in hidden sin by the word of God or unregeneracy sin can remain in our midst indefinitely then every single one of us, as well as every good thing that we do and God does in our midst, is hindered, diminished, or destroyed by this deceptive disease.
In 2 Samuel, chapter 6, “God was upset about the Ark being carried in an oxcart (the method being wrong—Num. 4:15; 1Chron. 15:2), unfortunately for Uzzah who didn’t stop to consider God’s will at that point, later paid a high penalty for doing the ‘good deed’ of trying to keep the Ark from falling out of the oxcart!” Let’s be wise and seek out the will of God not our own ends as we read scripture and this starts with our attitude to it!
The deceptive factor in Satan’s work (to immobilize and paralyze the church these last two thousand years) has always been for his work to appear very, very similar to God’s Work, a twisted manipulation of God’s Word! “Did God really say...?” “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). Consider the evidence. Don’t you and I study the Bible?” Does it make a difference how we perceive and respond
to the things we are facing in life and give us love, joy and peace instead of the evidence of strive, fear and hate? Also is it really harmless to commend everything that is done “in Jesus Name”—as long as someone might get helped by it? It’s not harmless at all, though in the end, the son of Abraham’s good intentions to do something for God in a way that wasn’t God’s...in the end “the child born in the logical way will persecute the child born of the Spirit. It is the same now” (Gal. 4:29).
From the above are we using men’s gimmicks and programs and traditions and human logic and a religion of convenience to serve God? All methods drawn from the well of good intentions and man’s wisdom, to get a baby for God when the womb seems barren and things aren’t working. Ishmael does look much like Isaac, but there is a supernaturally powerful and wonderful difference if we only have the courage to find it. We shouldn’t do anything “for God” that allows, by its very nature, a way to feel justified while not truly in Christ and doing God’s w
ill.

[John 7:37-38] ‘On the last day of the feast Jesus stood up and proclaimed, “if anyone thirst, let him come to me & drink. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, ‘out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water’’ He says whoever thirst let him come and out of him will follow rivers of living waters!

Psalm 63:1–4: 'Oh God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; My flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is. So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary, beholding
Let us refresh others also by taking the gospel message to them.
The scripture says taste and see the Lord is good.
let others have a taste by sharing the word you have recieved from the Lord. The minimum daily requirement to grow in God with ever increasing glory is the constant hunger in your soul for his word and presence.
