Interceding for the new Generation Church (the Youth)

On the 24th of February Furaha Group prayer held their first prayer meeting at Bournemouth Family Church Venue. The focus of prayer was, interceding for the new Generation Church (the Youth). As an enouragement to travail in prayer for each other Daphne one of the interssors in attendance gave her testimony:

[You may say]- Well, I've lasted three or more years as a Christian without requirement for me to apply prayer for myself or for others.. and from this past experience,.. I will last more years and a long time as a Christian here in Bournemouth and things will always be as they have always been…

Daphne -"No one is perfect but it must be through your life devoted to prayerthat God drives you nearer to perfection. Learn to change what you can with God's help and accept what you can't change. Christianity is Reality and we should not be conformed to the passions of our former ignorance because we can now see the light as Christians.

[You may think] -"But one thing bothers Me." "These past three or more years as a Christian have been too easy. I have a feeling that something is about to happen to me."

Daphne - It has been so hard for me, to practice what I believe because I live with people who have not been saved. Sometimes I took the wrong paths and felt like giving up but the Bible reminded me that no matter how far I drifted apart from God, He had a plan for me and would never leave me but always bring me back in to his presence. Being in this dark world is tough, but tough times are the times to move for. I have been in the world and what I can say is that, having to become a Christian has revived my life and I live everyday looking in a brighter dimension.

[You may orate] - "Anybody can work hard at a job. At a job you look to recover your costs and what you can make out of it on top of your costs, so it doesn't really cost you anything. But interssesion prayer isn't a job because, it always demands something more and I don't mean hard work, I mean sacrifice so it isn't a job its ministry and blessing to others!"

Daphne agrees- God is not worried about our experiences as young people but our inexperience’s. He has made us and placed us in this fast-moving, fast-advancing and highly sophisticated generation so that nations may experience the Glory of his salvation through prayer. By opening intercession meetings for young people we are sowing a seed and it will multiply double portion because this is the work of the Lord. The evil times we are in now urges us to commit ourselves into the Lord's service as young people and speak life amongst our peers so that many may be saved so shinning a light to dispel the surrounding darkness"

[You may agree and conclude] - "Okay then, let's agree with each other and with the Lord that when we meet the crosses and go into the furnaces for Jesus sake and for others, we're not going to run away. What costs nothing accomplishes nothing, we shall persevere in prayer together and will reap spirtual fruit for our selves and our generation in due season ."

Daphne agrees - Amen praise the Lord!

A further encouragement to pray came from a word of exhortation from guest pastor Newton:

Discover Yourself

Jer-1v5-9
As young people it is very important to know that we were created by God and in His image.
Not only were we created in His image but God ordained us and gave us tailor-made tasks to do on earth.
Your assignment cannot be done by anyone else… God has ordained you to be a prophet to the nations.
A prophet is a messenger or representative of God in an area, whether at school, home, work, university or church, God wants you to know your assignment.

Romans-8v19 “…creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God”. You cannot manifest what you are not and you cannot manifest what you don’t know. It is therefore important that we spend time in prayer and reading the word of God to discover whom we are and by faith manifest our abilities as GOD permits.
Jer-1v7 “…Do not say; I am a youth…” As a young person learn to speak right things to yourself and your future.
There is power in the words of our mouth, Proverbs-18v21.
People may say what ever they want to say but never let other people’s opinion become your reality; you are what God ordained you to be. The greatness in you will manifest in Jesus name, only believe in God and believe in yourself.
The Holy Spirit is the only person who holds our destiny and at the same time He is the one who can lead us into that great destiny. Spend time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Matthew-25v1-6 the wise will always have oil with them. This is the season of oil of the Holy Spirit; desire more of Him.
